1. Nissan Kumquat   Cupertino   Coconut Qashqai (yes Rogue Sport, bla bla.)

Kinja'd!!!

2. Nissan X-Trail.

Kinja'd!!!

3. Nissan Micra (Which is going to carry on, even with the new Micra in Europe. The new Micra !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! for the time being, although I could see it slotting alongside the Note or replacing it entirely in Canada. Australia, weirdly, !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . )

Kinja'd!!!

4. Nissan Micra K10. Fun fact: Apart from a few cut-and-shut 2-speed autos put in Ladas by importers, this was the cheapest automatic car your Canadian dollar could buy when it was sold. Skodas, Ladas, and the few Dacias that made it here were cheaper, but they were all manual-only.

I saw an X Trail in person last week. I mistook it for a Forester until I got close enough.

No one in the Lada community has been able to confirm that the two-speed Ladas actually happened. And if you dig really deep into the rumours, consensus is the trans came out of a Chevette... except the Chevette was a 3-speed.

My mom bought a brand new k10, automatic on top. Nissan bought it in good faith. I’m not sure that the lemon law existed back then

Fun fact: Did you know that the Qashqai is actually pronounced ‘cash-cow’? And that as an SUV it is complete bullshit?

My mother had two. Dead reliable, economical, easy to drive. The K10 would rust as you watched but she got out of them before that stage.

She’s now progressed to a K12 via three K11s. All of them completely reliable.

Nope. It’s one of the best selling cars where I am as it happens.

I have no grudge against this car. Every make and model has lemons. It’s the car that helped my mom get it if a nasty divorce, so it’s a great car!

Maybe so but that still doesn’t make it an SUV...decent four door hatchback though. They got sick of the unpronounceable name down here and called it Dualis instead.
